City Supports California Mobility Center for Workforce Development

“The CMC is a comprehensive program that accelerates technology innovation to the marketplace, while creating clean, green, good paying jobs in our community,” said Arlen Orchard, SMUD CEO and chairman of the board of the Mobility Center. “This career pathways program will ensure that residents disproportionately impacted by Covid-19 have new career opportunities and can fully benefit from the California Mobility Center and the companies it attracts to the region.”

The city’s funding will go to retraining opportunities for more than 500 people in the city displaced from the labor force due to Covid-19.
